Winter Workshop

For the past two days the students have participated in our third grade Winter Workshop.  Each class spent 45 minutes with each of the third grade teachers.  The students experienced a different winter/holiday activity in each of the classrooms.

The students created ice skate ornaments and
completed a winter glove logic problem with Mrs. McFadden.

The students participated in a Read-A-Thon, which included a readers' theater of
How the Grinch Stole Christmas, in Mrs. Pericles' room.

Mrs. Klassman prepared several activities relating to the movie, The Velveteen Rabbit.

The students solved winter word scrambles with Mrs. Teague.

Mrs. Leidner read The Stranger in the Woods and the students created their own woodsy scenes.

In our classroom, the students used store advertisements to figure out the cost of a Hanukkah meal and to spend an imaginary $200 on gifts for their families.  They also enjoyed a SmartBoard version of Snowman Hangman.
