Our Class "Rocks"

The students have taken on the role of junior geologists in our current science unit. We had some fun recently as we modeled the different kinds of rocks with some fun snack foods.  The students made metamorphic rocks out of Starburst candy, igneous rock fudge and sedimentary rock sandwiches.

Google Expeditions

We were so lucky to have a visit from a Google representative today.  The children were able to test out a new product for Google Cardboard called Google Expeditions.  We were able to take virtual field trips to Canada, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef and the Moon.  What fun!

King Philip National Honor Society

Several students from the National Honor Society at KPHS came for a visit yesterday to teach our students about energy.  The students viewed a powerpoint presentation and then went to the cafeteria to experiment with potential vs. kinetic energy.

Rocks and Minerals

We had a visit from the Acton Children's Museum today.  The students enjoyed making sediment bottles, rock riddles, crystals and more.
